Please explain walls

Hello, I'm fairly new at all this and after having read the forum for a while I'm still not quite understanding 'walls' and how they disappear or get 'eaten up'.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

walls are just another name for a big bid of money or BTC on the exchanges.
If they disappear, the bid/bids were canceled.
If they are eaten up, someone paid all that money for the Btc.
