We can clearly see that the hashing power is not in good hands just from the last and upcoming hardforks. The developers ever considered to switch to POS or there are some downsides? I can only see more people buying bitcoins If that happens, a lot of people can't do mining because of the electricity costs etc, having your PC running a full node should cost much less in case we switch to proof of stake.
