This story at Social Times talks about a firm that has created advanced tools for YouTube video playback:

http://www.socialtimes.com/2010/12/embedplus-youtube-embeds/

They allow you to embed a bunch of features like slow-mo, zoom, chapters etc.  If they would add a bitcoin tip jar feature so that content producers could more easily monetize their videos...

For a tip jar, fundamentally all you would need is some URL that you put into your video description that would direct you to a page to donate money, right?

yes, that would work.

I guess it would be slicker if it acted like a mini-wallet, like the Chrome extension developed by somebody on here, so that the user didn't have to leave the page.

Great...yes it could use the Chrome extension if available...if not, it should direct user to another page.  Would it be able to generate a new bitcoin address for each tip?  Where would the mini bitcoin wallet be stored, and how could I later get funds from this wallet?

Where is a link to how I can install this Chrome extension?

Indeed.  I don't understand those people making some browser extensions to send bitcoin tips.  Seriously, how hard is it to copy paste a bitcoin address ?

Vi faru iun (familano, amiko, ...) uzi bitcoin kaj rigardu ilin.

http://mybitcoin.com/ <- ekzemplo.

I actually received a reply back from the developers of embedplus.com.  Any thoughts on how I should respond?

Quote

Thanks for the compliment on EmbedPlus.  Hopefully, it can be of use to your or someone you know.

We also read a little bit about Bitcoin.  The project is intriguing.  The question, however, is how many people would use an integrated Bitcoin/Video embed?  Are there users currently using something similar to this, which we could 'make easier' so to speak?  In essence, if we find that the integration would benefit a good number of people, we'll invest the time to explore something like what you pitched and release it.

We don't yet know enough about Bitcoin's adoption to make any assessment.  Perhaps you can shed some light on these things.

Regards,
