My new mining setup

I just finished building my mining setup. Two computers with 3 GPUs each. GPUs are spaced with one empty slot between them to provide good air flow. A portable 8000 Btu A/C unit blows cold air into them. The whole setup costed $5000. I know it is much more than average system, but I build it from new parts and I wantei it to be as opposite as possible from using milk crates. I had a lot of fun building this, that is important to me. System generates modest 4Gh/s. It would probably take a year to pay for itself.

How exciting! I'm about to set up my first mining rig. Well, more like just swapping out my GTX580 in my gaming rig to get a couple 7970's and then I'll go ahead and mine while I'm not gaming hard. Let me know how you're enjoying it! What pools have you signed up for?

Thats pretty sexy. If you wanna go for extra cards in the future and you have more slots, look into pcix16 extension cables.

I did research, BTCguild is the biggest, so I signed up with them. Read carefully reviews about the second biggest. Notice the location too.

I tried extension cables, ordered from 3 sources to make sure that at least few of them will work.
And yes, smoe did not work and some did. I prefer the card to be seated securely in the MB. One rig draws 950W power with 3 cards. I do not want to put more cards than 3.

It looks good, but the difficulty is increasing a lot.  Depends on your cost of electricity too.
