There is even news making the rounds that exchange executives in China would not be allowed to leave the country. Such a draconic approach if you asked me. However, whether the exchanges and their executives are banned or not is immaterial now as Bitcoin is showing to the world that no one person or country can control it. Bitcoin goes on without China.

Well we know that Exchanges in China have been forced to close or take off Bitcoin exchanges. Even PEER TO PEER exchange of Bitcoin is most likely going to be banned also. This just means that business will be taken elsewhere like JAPAN and S.KOREA and other Asian countries. I doubt this move by China will stop the flow of money laundering out of China, because that is what the Govt and Bank of China are trying to stem the flow of money going out.

China's official newspaper just released note on the end of bitcoin in China:
http://en.people.cn/n3/2017/0918/c90000-9270302.html

it's a complete ban. People who are saying it's just a temporary ban is spreading fake news.

Everyone is trying to see only the news that they want to see.
In my opinion even if China bans or it doesn't ban bitcoin, be it possession, usage or mining I don't care.

The impact China has in BTC has been heavily exaggerated for years.
Volume has been proven to be fake, a lot of the hashing power in Chinese pool comes from outside china, a lot of equipment mining in China is owned by foreigners, rl day to day usage is close to non existent.

So we can live without China with no headaches.
Besides... BTC and a communist country. That is a strange thing to imagine.

This assumption is not entirely true. Most likely, since September 30, China's Bikkoi exchanges will be closed to work with bitcoin, as they have already announced to the whole world. But what will happen next is very interesting. While it is difficult even to predict, so the policy of the Chinese government regarding the crypto currency is not predictable.
