Ok so Ive been playing with mkining BTC for a little over a month and used to love building OC'd gaming rigs and decided to build a multi gpu mining rig. A few days ago i swapped from guiminer to cgminer so im a newb at it! Yesterday some parts I ordered came in and I got to work making a open air case and making sure the basics work. I have a 7970 mining at 680 mhash at 1160 clock right now. This new rig will have 2 more of the same exact gigabyte card. Well to make sure I didnt need to return anything I put the pc together with 1 card to install drivers etc and see if it works. Installed windows 7, cg miner and catalyst 12.1. Same setup as my other card. HERE IS THE PROBLEM

These speeds are too slow! Now i know you can change a config file or something in cg miner but that is way beyond my know how as im new to cgminer.  Also seems liek the activity should be higher then that. Am i missing something or is there something I should check at this point? IM gonna swap with the other card and see if there is any difference in a few mins.

It looks like you only ran cgminer for a few seconds in that screenshot. If you aren't passing in (m)any parameters you need to wait a good 5 to 10 minutes in my experience for cgminer to tune itself for your card. Also, if you didn't specify an intensity with the -I flag try -I 9. According to your screenshot you are only at an intensity of 6.

The other card works and is the same speeds. Where do I change the I setting? Is it in the config file or in cgminer itself in the menus?

Here is my other computer with the same card.

Gonna read more into the config files and what not to see if there is some stuff just setup different between the two. Any help will be appreciated.

on the slow computer try G, I, 7, enter...if you open up cgminer by double clicking cgminer.exe in the dir and enter you pool info it'll start in dynamic mode with only 1 thread enabled...by doing the above you'll get 2 threads n should see higher speeds...also might wanna try and lower your mem clocks down...saves power n heat as btc mining doesn't use memory

Dreams of cyprto solving everything is slowly slipping away...Replaced by scams/hacks Sad

ok made a small difference. Ive been controlling the clock speeds thru catalyst but not sure if it will do all 3 cards or just the first one. How do I adjust it with cgminer for all 3?
