He can totally say that with no trouble, it's not like there are at least 3-4 superior projects based on the algorithm that will maintain ASIC-ressistance and are more profitable to mine, it's not like the guy is taking a 20% of al- ...what?

Calling for a boycott won't accomplish much. Trying to throw your weight around because you have some computer hardware doesn't really seem like an idea many people would follow.

This is just like when Bitcoin had ASICs designed for it. It is an inevitable conclusion, and perhaps the coins you mentioned will have market cap drop because of their decisions when GPU miners need to mine elsewhere to try and get ROI after getting beat out by ASICs.

This is why you should understand the risks of mining and difficulty rising.

This thread is pretty juicy and raises some valid points. I for one am a convert and now support MONERO completely. I honestly feel like ETH or ZCASH are simply too lazy to fork when the changes to the algos are already laid out to them. Just check the github pages, there have been lots of proposals for minor code changes. All they need to do is simply merge the proposal into the main code. How hard is it to hire a guy who will review code? They're f-ing billionaires already...

if you believe in all asics and no gpus you are mistaken

gpus allow  as much 1billion miners .

as 1 billion pcs with a decent graphics card will eventually exist.

to shut that out  is bad business.

why make a billion customers located world wide go buy buy?

Al-gore-rythms can be forked every 2 months if need be  that would stop asics.

read my signature and you will understand why all asic world = fail

Totally right about technological advance in hardware. use to mine with r9 290 then r9 390 then rx, than 1080ti, titans etc. but companies making them:
1. didn mine cryptocurrency,
2. mine secretly before sale hardware to public.
you see this is called - dishonesty.
also coin developers that "scream" there coins are decentralized, private, community based etc. should look them self in the mirror, because they are also f...n crooks.
history always repeat it self. BTC was mined with cpu , gpu then asic came and we where to naive to see bad. well the bad is called centralized just like bitcoin cash. 90% of mining power comes from 1 location - how you know if it is even truth .they may invent coins blocks - exactly like print money in fiat, environment they control over 50% of the network.
ALL OF YOU HERO AND LEGENDARY MEMBERS IN THIS FORUM SHOULD LOOK YOUR SELF IN THE MIRROR TOO.
BECAUSE CRYPTO SHOULD NOT BE WHAT IT IS TODAY.
IF ANY ONE who SHOULD PROTECT THE IDEAS IS YOU - because PEOPLE LISSENT TO YOU.
new rules and regulations, first class flight for crypto conferences, lambos and show offs. this put us on the radar - and make crypto label  - tax evasion and money laundering etc..
we where all good before. cryptocurrency is not like the banks - and should be decentralize, not gouvs controlled with few exchanges, all incognito.
SO BEFORE IS TO LATE - LETS GO BACK TO THE CORE - because for sure SANTOCHI does not like this.

Well that escalated quickly..

Anyway, it seems like us miners can't get a break. ETH value has tanked and those who weren't able to sell at the highs are now forced to hodl. No shitmain has released an ASIC and is hiding more powerful ASICs but ETH devs don't give a shit. To add to that, electricity cost at where i'm mining at is about to increase. What now. Lol.

"Anyway, it seems like us miners can't get a break"
I think we just did, it is called monero. they where not the first, but by far most important - this changed a lot and the big coins clowns are thinking now. remember we are all community - and this is all community based environment/ project. is not grandma, police officer or a stockbroker environment. if you loose your consumer base - you are done.

Whatever his reasons is, i think he got some point too but i really don't care though. Why he's bothered with those two people they were just a creator and you can't do anything about of what they like and they just created. It's just like you are trying to change what does Satoshi did to Bitcoin but Satoshi does gone already and i think this is what happen too to him that's why he hides forever.

I tell you one thing that made me laugh with satisfaction--when a few places ran articles showing Bitmain selling their cryptonight ASICs "Buy 1 get 4 free". LMAO. Hopefully no one bites and we see buy 1 get 8 free.

Sure would be nice to see that for the new E3s. I guess we can dream.
