Will RSK be the saviour for Bitcoin?

From my understanding, they are in the process of setting up Merge Mining with Bitcoin (and possibly Litecoin also) and their ledgar can process transactions 200x faster that Bitcoin on chain and 2000X faster than Bitcoin off chain.

Surely this will help take the strain off from Bitcoin both in terms of increasing speed but also by reducing fees per transaction.

I feel this will put an ageing Bitcoin back on an even par with its younger competitors, which will obviously help continue the growth of Bitcoin.

Would love to hear your guys thoughts on this Smiley

Definitely. I'm not sure about everything you mentioned impact but I know that bringing smart contracts will definitely make people consider using it instead of using Ethereum at this point. @CryptosapienZA: http://www.rsk.co/

What is RSK? Please share additional info if possible. I do not think this would be possible, there have been attempts before.
Look what happens when u try to merge mine Ether and Decred, not many GPUs can sustain this for a long time. How would this work for BTC/LTC since there re different algos.

it is my understanding that RSK will work on top of bitcoin, it is like an additional service working with bitcoin blockchain. it is certainly helpful but it is not changing much about bitcoin itself.
i am not sure how the 100 tx/sec is going to work but it seems to be off-chain. so again nothing to do with bitcoin.

i've seen d5000 give some god explanations about it. check his post history or just ask him.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Yes, RSK only work on top of bitcoin to extend smart contract into bitcoin, it's not fully safe bitcoin from cliff. If bitcoin core have smart contract or new additional feature it will be great news for btc hodlr

I am really impressed with rootstock ,the scaling is the most attractive part as it could scales up to 100 transaction per second which is really huge than the current stage. We need to see more developments coming in bitcoin and a smart contract with bitcoin is always welcome,we need changes to keep up with the rest of the coins.

I have heard that there are going to be smart contract type that the fee is paid by the smart contract owner instead by the person who want to push a transaction into the smart contract like in Ethereum. Is this correct? Where I can find more details?

What is the status for RSK? When the mainnet is going to be launched?
