Hi all.

Does anybody knows any charts or even raw data where we can see the difficulty changes for LTC?

most of the links I found were for historical prices, and dead  Smiley

Thanks

Here's one from just a few days ago: https://i.imgur.com/eKQgIii.png

The plan is to automate this at some point soon.

How did you do that? Could you publish the code or share any useful links?
My plan is to program some statistics for TRC.

thanks

You need to setup Abe which is the hardest part. Then I pulled over a couple of the files from Abe into another folder and write this script for it.

http://pastebin.com/zJVVBhQR

Then I imported the results into LibreOffice and made the graph.

If you can update it to build graphs on a page like http://bitcoin.sipa.be/ I could probably send you some LTC. I think gnuplot is being used there. PM if you want to talk any numbers.

Thanks Weex.

That will do brilliantly.
It is nothing fancy I just wanted to get a rough idea on how the difficulty was changing.

Yeah, I think it was the first hint that ASICs were really going to put a dent in Bitcoin GPU mining profitability. Since then diff and price have been settling at a new level.

What was the difficulty like in the first month? How many coins were being generated?

Hi weex, what's your data source?
I have Abe setup on LitecoinScout.com and am doing scripting against that db.

Very interesting. How are you estimating the hashrates?

Looking at how long the last so many blocks(576 for 1 day, 2016 for 3.5 day) were found and summing up the expected number of hashes required for each based on their difficulties. If you have a time and a total number of hashes, you have a hashrate.

It's interesting to look at those difficulty charts, FTC hit 188 difficulty in about a week or so after it's launch in April, LTC only just hit 188 in April too this year and LTC is a far more popular coin. No wonder FTC broke! They both had the same block and difficulty adjustment parameters at the time. FTC has since been modified a bit. The point being that you don't want a sudden drop in hash rate from some news announcement etc. to hit LTC.
