I figured right now was the best time to post this, considering the low silver has been at and *knock on wood* hopefully stays at. Also, I've gotten some new equipment and am anxious to get back to melting.
What I'm suggesting is, you send me your JUNK 1oz silver pieces (bars or rounds-the ones that are all toned and nasty looking, are some stupid art bar, etc) and I melt them down into 1oz bars for you. I'd videotape the entire process so you could verify it is in fact your silver in the bar that I make.
I have a .999FS hand stamp I'll stamp on there, room to label it "1 oz" or put anything else you want on there (my collection of handstamps includes numbers 0-9, letters A-Z, and a "lighting bolt" lol). You might wonder why the hell you'd take a professionally minted bar/round, melt it down and make a hand-poured, hand-stamped bar not backed by any mint or anything. I have two answers for you. One, you might think its cool. Two, people on eBay go CRAZY for hand-poured and stamped bars. I'm not kidding, when I was more into melting I would go buy junk rounds for 50cents over spot, add some flux and some shot (to ensure weight and purity), melt em down in my crucible and then pour them into a mold (I use wood-they're only 1-time use, but I can get 4 bars out of a 99cent wooden chest from a craft store, and graphite isn't ideal for torch melting).
Anyways, check eBay to see what I mean about the premium people pay for hand-poured bars (I SORT OF understand it-maybe they think they're old, or they just like the look of some real craftsmanship).
I don't need to make any money off of this (like I said, I enjoy it), but I do just want to make sure the materials I have to use (gas, silver shot, molds) are paid for-so I would request from you only
$2. Shipping would only cost you a couple dollars (via USPS First Class). You could just send postage stamps along with your silver to me and I'll package it up and send it back your way.
I'm going to be very busy for the next couple of weeks, so no guarantees of what I can do during that time. But, if you want your silver turned into a customized bar I'd literally be happy to do it. Message me if interested and we could figure it out.

ALSOIf you have scrap 925 (Sterling) Silver (92.5% Silver), I can melt that down for you too. Silver jewelry is made out of 925 silver. I can only work with it though if its JUST silver (no stones, etc). There are 925 scrap lots available in all different sizes on eBay all the time. Turning a bunch of old, broken jewelry into a solid silver bar makes sense.
