Tools for receiving bitcoin payments

First post here - be kind. The newbie quarantine is a bit weird, but I guess you must get a lot of spammers...

What is the state of play for libraries/modules to accept bitcoin payments on a web site?

I am a developer (java or php mostly). Ideally, I would like to offer bitcoin as a payment method to customers, and would love to link exchange rates to some external volatile rate, such as mtGox +2.5%, for instance.

Is there anything already out there?

To check that you received bitcoins you should check the RPC from bitcoind. More Details: BTC wiki
