Hello, I wasn't able to find my answer on google.  Basically, I bought some ERC20 tokens on the binance market and sent them to my secure ethereum wallet.  I've been reading different things, namely exodus said

"Any EOS tokens purchased directly through the crowdsale (eos.io) website will need to be registered.  The EOS crowdsale ends June 1st, 2018 and by that time all EOS ERC20 tokens will need to be registered with EOS in order to claim the future EOS Blockchain Tokens. Fortunately you can register your EOS ERC20 tokens through MyEtherWallet. This guide will walk you through the registration process for EOS tokens in your Exodus wallet."

(1) Does this only apply to the crowdsale or is it for all ERC20 tokens no matter where they came from?

It is apply on all erc20 tokens, every tokens need to be registered no matter where they came from on such exchanger or wallets. It is necessary in order for a token to be recognize and be able to sell and sold on different exchanger on its different prices.

Every tokens are required to register first in order them to be recognize and be listed at different exchanger. It is necessary because once the tokens are not registerd it can't be sell because its not listed on such exchanger sites.
