Hey guys,

Here's my take on a Komodo investment: https://medium.com/@sylvainartplayribes/komodo-investment-thesis-55cf57c8a85

Warning, way tl;dr.

Cliffs:
- ICOs are all the rage this year. And everybody longs for functional decentralized exchanges.
- Enters Komodo, which offers the first "decentralized ICO" and a fully fledged in-wallet decentralized exchange, working through atomic swaps.
- Yet their latest, biggest announcement on the subject of dICO looked catastrophically looked like that: https://cdn.pbrd.co/images/GMLIrQu.png

- Who woulda thunk: that destroyed their hype and the token price. After hearing disastrous feedback from their community they've finally decided to focus more on marketing and PR.
- Conclusion: the currency is technologically solid, but largely underpriced due to recent mistakes from which the team seems to be actively learning.

==> buy.

What if the team was/is never serious about the project? Decentralised exchange is the future of cryptocurrency and the first ones to make them useable would profit from it.

Nah. They chose to stick to what the Zcash team had done, arguing that:
- The security standards were sufficient ( https://petertodd.org/2016/cypherpunk-desert-bus-zcash-trusted-setup-ceremony )
- They couldn't have done it in a more trustworthy manner themselves

When I first joined crypto, I was like all other people fooled by the smooth talk and business suits. But do not forget, engineers, especially in crypto development, are a different type of people. They work hard on coding but are extremely proud and sometimes on the brink of arrogance. They always think they are right, spend more time correcting people and even their own supporters/community, rather than reflecting and learning from mistakes. Komodo is amongst many, who all feel they know best.

Well, these guys could well use smooth talk and business suits =).

As for the rest of your message it sounds ... pretty vague?
