I am a musician very interested in what projects like blokur and ujo bring to the table for collecting revenues for artists. While waiting for those projects, i have an album to release soon, an would still like to include some sort of coin donation option on the band homepage. For indie artists self releasing, the ability to open up to direct commerce with any 'fan' is exciting in itself. I would think that there are other artists doing the same thing, or looking for other options to "include" the technology.

What are the best practices here? Is there anything that I need to be careful of regarding privacy? I see people often putting donation addresses on youtube an the like...

I was originally envisioning an html generator similar to how you can make the code for a paypal button on their site, but i guess that it is expected publishing an address on a website is all the same?

I would love to get feedback and hear if anyone has seen other good examples of this being done for BTC/ETH

Thanks in advance

I don't think most BTC/ETH donation methods just simply add an address to their site/blog/social media. Nothing else. Just place your wallet address/addresses somewhere in your page and probably make the address a modal so that the QR code appears when it is clicked, or maybe something easier like linking it to
Code:
https://blockchain.info/address/(wallet address here)
which can make it easier for possible donors. Probably just create a separate wallet for donations so that people couldn't see the funds of your own original wallet; just for privacy's sake.

Also, as a musician, you might want to take a look at SingularDTV. https://singulardtv.com

Use a QR code version of your bitcoin address, that's what I'd do.

There's not much else to consider. Maybe you want to use different addresses for different venues or gigs, etc.

Oh one more, use an exchange address so no one can take your address and see a balance and decipher how much you've earned via tips. Exchange addresses are funded then emptied as the Exchange takes the bitcoin from your address and moves it to theirs.
