you people are pathetic. the majority of you all missed the boat.

You sound kind of mad, do you want to talk about it?

no not mad at all. its a pipe dream. too many people know about it for there to ever be a substantial move again. it was a once in a lifetime move up to $266. it may get there again but its going to be a grind. since things have slowed down whats the biggest upward price movement in one day?

Sorry, was this thread title "What will trigger the next panic buy to 266?"

No, it wasn't.

You obviously don't know much, so here's an investopedia definition to help you out  Smiley

Rally: "A period of sustained increases in the prices of stocks, bonds or indexes."

It does not mean a massive panic buying like we saw to 266

Based on his recent posts, I'd say he overexposed him self on the last one Wink

Once in a lifetime?

What about this move from <$5 to $30 in 2011?

That's two completely insane hype cycles in less than 2 years.

More people know about BTC now than 4 months ago, but if you think:

too many people know about it for there to ever be a substantial move again.

it sounds to me like you haven't talked to too many "people" that exist in the real world outside of these forums.

Some possiblities:

- Amazon.com or another similar company announcing they will accept bitcoin
- The release of a US-based exchange that allows easy, cheap (perhaps ACH) money transfers in and out and a robust trading platform that allows shorting and margin trading.
- Paypal or western union saying they will accept bitcoin and maybe even function as an exchange.
- The US govt declaring bitcoins to be "legal".
- Large financial institutions get involved and start offering bitcoin derivatives

Curious on what you think the catalyst will be. A major firm adopting BTC? Randomly induced panic buying? More clairvoyance on a non anti-bitcoin stance by the US Gov?

What do you expect to see at the top of Reddit Bitcoin when you wake up to a giant price spike and continued upward movement?

When the smart money starts to believe that the effect of the block reward halving has not yet priced in they will begin again to buy in earnest. Reddit will only know about this long after the fact.

You mean the block reward halving from 50 to 25?? Yet to be price in you say? Waaat?
