So thought I could do something useful with these 5 compulsory posts.

I have manged to set up my MAC PRO 3,1 mining. This was a pain.

Got a RADEON 7970 in there (which I bought from a company that makes them specifically for macs, though I understand it's perfectly possible without doing this).

It's running 10.8.3.

Getting me about 600Mh.

Any questions about this are welcome, took me quite a lot of research to do so will gladly help someone having a problem should they be in a similar situation.

yes, I don't currently have the knowledge on how to do that, but I believe it can be done. There are forum posts giving walkthroughs. Essentially though, I'd just like to make people aware that the power supply from the mother (logic) board is SUFFICIENT to run a 7970. (I spent days making sure this was the case before I put my motherboard at risk).

And the drivers, open CL 1,2 etc all worked without a hitch. (so far)
