I've just had this in an email from CurrencyFair...

"please note that due to AML reasons, going forward we wont be able to accept BitCoin related deposits and that any such deposits will be returned to the remitter."

They were the last currency exchange that dealt in BTC after TransferWise chickened out. If these companies are being bullied by the banks or government, as they clearly are, they should speak out about it and shame them. But then CurrencyFair is run by ex-bankers so they are presumably part of the same mess of vested interests and corruption that is the UK banking industry...

Well it has made me more resolved than ever to transfer my wealth into BTC. At least I get to choose what I can spend it on, not have my bank choose. At least it can't be confiscated in a depositor bail-in. At least it can't be lost by the investment arm of what I thought was a retail only bank. At least it doesnt disappear under a mountain of freshly minted sterling produced by the BoE with a keystroke, while I slog for every penny of mine. Gangsters.

Anyway, any ideas what the most cost efficient way to buy BTC from the UK now is?
