I've been doing some searching around for e learning based altcoins and not found much other than interview as to how blockchain can change the education industry but not really anything in terms of altcoins or blockchains which can be implemented into the educational sector.

Maybe it's because I've been smoking a bit but, to me at least, the educational industry seems like one in which could most benefit from blockchains and altcoins. With masses of the youth becoming more and more engrossed in the digital realm it seems like they would be the ideal candidates to drive the technology forward in the distant future.

On top their importance in the future of the technology, they're obviously the future of humanity and education is something which should be rewarded.

Wouldn't it be great if there was an edexcel (I'm English and they govern our schools) blockchain which issued tradable altcoins to students who; had good attendance, put in extra effort after school, attained higher than their projected grades etc?

Schools nowadays (in The west for sure) have a wealth of computing power and so much of the curriculum is based on learning via a computer that they could formulate a mining algorithm which rewards tasks completed on the computer.

As schools receive significant funding from the state a portion of that could be set aside to finance the rewards system and the blockchain technology could be leased by the state to private institutions as a means of garnering a financial return on their investment.

The reward incentive to the children would also assist with easing the poverty issues for parents as their kids might be able to save their coins and buy that new game themselves.

I'm probably really missing a massive point here but, yeah, just a thought!
