maybe i am wrong but i read somewhere on the forum that someone said Yobit is going to add bitcoin gold pretty soon. it is not going to be something new from them either. they usually add coins like this very fast and without paying any attention to anything. even if it has a virus for the wallet. they don't run the wallet anyways!

Is there a definite agreement from the BTCGold team that they are giving away BTCGold for BTC?

Are there statements from Coinbase and the major exchanges?
This will definitely be what Bitcoin cash has done. They want to achieve high value, the distribution of bonuses for investors is obvious.

Typically exchanges will not give out a currency from a fork in Bitcoin, if you want to exploit the opportunity then you have to go out yourself and take your coins, get the private key and then use the private key on the BTCGold or whatever it is network. If you do that then you can nab whatever kind of forked currency you want. But that's the only real way of getting any sort of value from the fork if you have Bitcoin currently in an exchange. If it stays in there and you don't have a private key then it means nothing.
That ain't true. Some exchanges like Bittrex have handled the last Bitcoin fork pretty well and they gave given every user their Bitcoin Cash. I don't know why they haven't yet announced whether they will support the upcoming forks or not. Maybe they think it is a scam...
Some of exchanges that are going to give away bitcoin gold just like when bitcoin cash HF occured is making a notice for their users often through email but may have various ways.
If you don't receive such thing from your favourite local exchanges, you may ask their support. and that's right, bittrex handled pretty well back then.

you can't expect anyone to take it seriously when nothing is yet clear. they should at least release a wallet/client for it before exchanges even consider adding it and releasing statements.

Not to sound pessimistic, if all these issues still remain unresolved as at this time when the intended fork is just about 10 days away, I think there is need for serious upgrading by the entire team behind this upgrade. In the case of BCH, there were already enough of this on ground as at the time. What is being discussed had been changed from what will happen to bitcoin in the case of the fork, rather discussion was centering on the issue of 'how do I claim my BCH successfully without compromising my BTC?'.

With all this and even without enough coverage and discussion, we can only hope that the same faith that happened to to Bitcoin Unlimited awaits BCG at this time but to avoid it, something more timely needs to be done.

well, some of these "issues" are work in progress. it is not like they are ignoring them. some of them like the PoW change already has the Pull Request open, the code is ready and somewhat tested. the other issue that may be overlooked is that when forking something like this you have to "extensively" test it. it is not enough to do some tests and rush the fork to meet the deadline.

i also agree, the biggest problem of BTG is the lack of communication. for example the dev only has the slack and twitter. someone who is not on either of these platforms will be left out.
they need to start a proper announcement on bitcointalk, a reddit sub and then start answering questions.

that is why it is considered free money or airdrop anyways Cheesy

well according to sir pooya's information i think they are not ready for the fork and they didn't have a code yet so, the fork is far from the reality if the fork will happen, the exchanges will issue a statement or an announcement regarding to BTCG fork or segwit2x fork but it is better to move your fund to offline wallet or any wallet that controls the private key.

I think the BTG hard fork currently does not seem to be a viable fork, but if its happens, From what I've heard Bitcoin Gold isn't getting the same amount of support as Bitcoin Cash before it's launch, however Bitcoin Gold will be interesting because it can be mined with graphics card which will allow more people to mine it easier than Bitcoin. I would suggest holding as much Bitcoin as possible before the fork date. But after the fork you have to claim it before make any BTC transactions, and It depends on where you hold your btc. Personally, I'm holding my btc on a hardware wallet.

There is a statement from Bitfinex exchange, but not for BTG hard fork, for B2X Hard fork.
You can read more about it from here : B2X: Bitcoin Exchange Bitfinex Reveals Ticker for SegWit2x Fork

Oh boy, this is too funny. No wonder no one is taking them seriously. That's some "I'm late on my college assignment" level shit. It's like the public beta of hardforks. The early access of crypto-currencies. Only instead of a small indie game title, we're talking about an immutable, multi-billion dollar transaction network. Oh boy.

there is this guy in the Altcoins Service Discussion who said two exchanges already claimed they are going to list bitcoin gold in "November" these exchanges are Hong Kong’s (Bitexchange), and a new CFD exchange (Bitstar).

i have never heard the names of either of these exchanges though. i prefer waiting for better known exchanges like bittrex or at least smaller ones like cryptopia to add it.

Yobit exchange also released the information of supporting the bitcoin gold and as soon as the fork happens they will release the bitcoin gold coins in the users account, Just like they have done in Bitcoin Cash they were the exchange who gave their users BCC coin immediately as soon as the fork happened and got confirmation.

i find it odd certain exchanges have remained silent about supporting the BTC Gold Fork.  Binance and Coinbase did a pretty good job at posting info, but i cannot say the same for several other exchanges.  Hopefully they next fork is not so confusing lol

What I know about Bitcoin Gold is wallet and trading sites

Coinomi Wallet Apps.
Jaxx.io Wallet Apps

Exchanger.
Bittrex
Yobit

Just having hold of bitcoins will automatically get you BTG and that's equivalent to how many bitcoins you hold
