Hello all,

It appears that my local area may be arranging a group buy for a KNC Jupiter, in the end each share will cost around $700. The person who is organizing it is planning to payout once a week, and take power costs off of the payment before sending it.

Would it make sense to you guys to be buying basically 35GH/s or more, probably up to 45GH/s for $700?

Probably, but it also depends on when it ships

Does buying 45GH/sec for $700 make sense? Of course it does.

Does buying the promise of 45GH/sec for $700, contingent on the product not being a pre-order scam, not being "delayed" for months (or years), not getting delivered and the organizer disappearing into the night, not getting skimmed off the top since you have no control over where hashpower is pointing and where/how much is paid out, etc. make sense?

Well... that's another question entirely.
If everything goes well, sure it makes sense. If it goes badly in any number of possible ways, it's a bad idea. On the plus side, $700 isn't really a huge loss either way, so if that's a comfortable gamble for you, and you like the cut of this guys gib, go for it.

If I can get the miner next week, $700 is a good price.

Considering a few months/weeks ago avalon pre orders were selling at ~ $30k for 65ghs I would say $700 for 45ghs is a steal, and if it ships in the next few weeks you'll easily make your money back, any longer than that and you might have a big of difficulty

How well do you know the guy hosting the group buy and why can you not host it yourself?
