For quite some time attempts have been made to use PCs of unsuspecting people to mine crypto currency. Now, a simple javascript service from Coinhive (https://coinhive.com) makes mining from web browsers as simple as a few clicks. Currently the script uses your browser to mine for Monero.

To block such attempts use the extensions below:

a) AntiMiner (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/antiminer-1-coin-minerblo/abgnbkcdbiafipllamhhmikhgjolhdaf (AntiMiner - #1 Coin Minerblock))
b) minerBlock (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/minerblock/emikbbbebcdfohonlaifafnoanocnebl (minerBlock))
