does anyone knows what is the way to secure a token's name?
is it only when i create the contract or is there a way like registering a domain ?

There ain't no government in all of this, no regulations, you can do what you want with the naming.
As you know there are multiple crytpocurrencies with Bitcoin in their name now.

Anyone will be able to create a token with the same name as yours anytime. But as you said, you can register a domain, list the token on the exchanges and so on, in order to get that name associated with your coin, but nothing is a safe bet.
