Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, shares the enthusiasm recently expressed by McAfee – just like the creator of the eponymous antivirus, he believes Bitcoin is better both than gold and the U.S. dollar. Explaining about why exactly Bitcoin is better than gold, he said:

”There is a certain finite amount of bitcoin that can ever exist. Gold gets mined and mined and mined. Maybe there’s a finite amount of gold in the world, but Bitcoin is even more mathematical and regulated and nobody can change mathematics.” Fiat money, as he thinks, can just be printed as some influential bankers want, while with Bitcoin such things are impossible.

The statement was made at the Money 20/20 conference in an interview with CNBC. Money 20/20 has attracted many other interesting speakers. This event is dedicated to the future of payments, transactions and, of course, currencies.

Benjamin Lawsky, former New York state financial services chief, has held a speech at Money 20/20 as well. Cryptocurrency was mentioned by Mr. Lawski, as he told that he once rejected to “shut Bitcoin down” after a request from a bank lawyer.

Other statements made by Ben Lawsky included: the notion about how ICOs are dangerous in their current form – if they get out of control, there could be a backlash against entire crypto system; the mentioning of the very controversial BitLicense mechanism implemented by the New York financial authorities under his management – he told it now makes even more sense “in the context of China” (might have meant that if China bans ICOs and exchanges, why shouldn’t American authorities regulate the crypto market just a bit).

We will undoubtedly see more statements about cryptocurrency at this conference, as cryptocurrency is widely viewed as the financial technology of tomorrow.

Well, gold has it's advantages and it showed itself as perfect asset through hundreds of years. But Bitcoin is surly better than such new, but powerful USD. I think Bitcoin not just should but must to replace the USD on it's top position. It's just not fair that such actually weak currency as dollar rule this world and making richer only the USA. If Bitcoin is going to be as dollar, as international payment instrument, no one would in in the priority and the wealth would spreading evenly.

It's just the basic things he is rehashing, but it's good for once to have someone quite influential to share his (positive) opinion about Bitcoin. It was getting pretty one sided with the sheer number of baboons talking down on Bitcoin. When it comes to ICO's, I am a big supporter of this part of the market to get properly regulated. It won't completely wipe out the empty projects set up by scammer looking to bank on people's greed, but at least it will be a major step in the right direction. It's not quite often that I agree with certain governmental actions, but when it comes to ICO's, I'm all for it. It's however bad news for delusional Ethereum believers. Roll Eyes That coin thrives solely on the ICO crazy.

LoL, who is this guy? another person which stated China ban exchanges which is not happened in real world, just in his imagination.
Steve Wozniak and McAfee are better to see into this crypto world and share their thought about bitcoin, even Bill gates comment positively.

Looking a bit about Lawsky, he is an employer at New York State Department of Financial Services
Benjamin M. Lawsky is an American attorney and New York State's first Superintendent of Financial Services serving through June, 2015, and former Acting Superintendent of Banks serving through 2011. Wikipedia

I don't know, but most people from banks serving seems against bitcoin, due to bitcoin is a better monetary system compare to bank system?

it's crazy to think that our currency is based on the gold standard. But he makes a valid point. We all know how . much bitcoin is left; however, having one currency won't be possible with all of the ico's out there. Plus, what will we do with our gold??

In my opinion, both Gold and Bitcoin can be very valuable as we are now entering a truly digital world yet still clinging to many traditions we hold dear. In fact, had I got the money required I would be heavily investing in the real gold and its digital equivalent (Bitcoin). It is also on my opinion that both "assets" are not competing with each other but in fact can be complimentary. You can have the very stable gold and the volatility of Bitcoin...what more can you ask for as an investor?

I now see that after Mr. Dimon made many disparaging remarks about Bitcoin without first understanding and analyzing what Bitcoin is standing for, there are now many CEOs equally famous as Dimon, who are now expressing their opposite stand on Bitcoin. I am hoping that soon we can have a barrage of industry leaders who can appreciate the cryptocurrency movement and who can openly endorse the movement for mainstream adoption of Bitcoin.

I am sure this can be truly coming soon. Long live, Bitcoin!

This more than a good news, it’s historical for me. The number one mobile security technology think about bitcoin that is better than gold and USD. It only means the Blockchain technology is phenomenal and that will be a good start. It might be an option for paying bitcoin on apple application stores and many more.

This is the year of bitcoin and what more to come this 2018 is unpredictable and might bring the prices beyond the expectations.
