Trying to assemble and run a new rig. Have installed Ubuntu 16.04, GPU drivers, set up 1st card - works fine, mining fine.

Now whenever I add 2nd graphics card - unable to load Ubuntu, getting a screen with errors. It seems that only 1 pci slot works.

I did not tell what kind of GPU you use: AMD or NVIDIA.

Using:
- Asus Z270P
- Using GeForce GTX 1070 (all GPUs are the same)

Initially, when I've got the rig I tried to use Simpleminer. After 1 day of work and experiments it got this error.

Now I have installed a fresh Ubuntu 16.04 LTS myself and it gets the same error.

I have managed to fix it by updting grub with

Code:
pci=nomsi

But not sure whether it is a good idea. Pretty new to Linux, used this tutorial (https://blockoperations.com/build-6-gpu-zcash-headless-mining-rig-ubuntu-16-04-using-claymore/, I have skipped steps for AMD) to setup things. Still learning stuff.

There are some BIOS settings you should set:
1. Update BIOS to the latest version (or at least 06XX)
2. Disable PCIex power management
3. Set to Gen2 everywhere you find it (4 places)
4. Disable HD audio, serial port
5. Set primary display as PCIE
6. Set M.2 as PCIE
7. Enable Above 4G decoding

Thank you for the input.

1. Ok, BIOS was already at 8010
2. Never found an option to do it, only CPU Power Management
3. Only had 3 places (I have only 1 item under PEG Port Configuration)
4. Ok
5. Ok
6. Ok
7. Ok

After doing this, I was managed to run 450 Sol/W on both GPUs using DSTM's ZCash Miner. So, mission complete so far.

Still lots, to learn.
