Before you take part, you need to study the company. Study the white book and compare it with other competitors. It is also possible to share the risks between the two ICO.  Wink

I've noticed that the price of most tokens/coins after they get listed on exchanges is way lower than their price during the ICO. So I think it's not worth participating in an ICO anymore, just wait and buy your preferred token/coin when it is listed. You'll save a lot.
I would say that it depends on which ICO you participate in, some ICOs are good and worth investing in whereas some are just a waste of time. Be careful as to which ICO you are investing in.

Recently there has been a few ICOs that I have read about, some of the ICOs dump on the first day of listing on exchanges, the cause might be that a lot of coins offered during bounty campaigns are being dumped by investors on the first day of listing. However, if the coin is good and strong with the best technology, it will always survive and pick up in value no matter the consequences.

You have a bonus if you buy from ICOs. It may be 50% in the 1st round and in the 2nd round is 30% and the last one is 10%. That means if you can buy altcoins immediately you will have an extra 50% half your bonus. Therefore, even if they fall they have no problem for investors because they are not losers.

Many ICO are created everyday that it's hard to research them all and find out their worth. Of course, you will do your due dilligence, that's a given but the risk is still high. IMO, ICO's are only good for bounty hunters but for investors, I doubt it.

Personally I am not sure about ICOs. Until now I didn't found something where I would invest my money. I am sure that there are good projects out there, but as it is already pointed out, nowdays when ICO hits the exchange, the price of tokens decreases. In the past, when you found a good project, you could earn a good profit. I supose that those days will come back.
If you want to invest in ICO, you should do the research. Read the whitepaper, check the team behind it. Does it have a good story? Something that is useful? Are there similar projects out there? What is the price of their tokens? Do the comparison of them and when you are happy with results, you can invest in ICO.
I wish to you and all of us success in finding good ICOs and earning profits from them :-)

I observed some of the coin and seems like it is more profitable to buy it when it is launch in exchanger,  the price in exchanger is cheaper compare to the ICO price plus the bonus and it is safer to buy it after the coin in exchanger, I dont need to worry about the wallet and run out of coin,  so I do agree it is safer and more profitable to buy it from exchanger

Not all the time, sometimes other coins are more profitable when you invest in ICO. It is still worth participating but that will be varies from the ICO and the result of the project.

Most ICO investors certainly do not use ICO investment as a stepping stone to add rich. However, they certainly know an ICO will rise in price once the product is released. And every ICO has a different product implementation. There are ICOs that already have products and will make new products after ICO is complete. Thus, the products of an ICO most determine the price of the ICO Coin.

Depends a lot, some ICO's are actually really good buys. Think Stratis, Walton from the more recent ones, ETH...
What I look for is relatively small supply and good roadmap.

You are right on the price of ico been drop when it get to the market. That is just a temporary thing provider you buy a quality ico. Market fluctuation is normal. Quality ico will surely be successful in the future.

It's just like a crowdfunding with blockchain only nowadays.
The atomsphere now only focuses on the prestige of team rather than coin concept.

ICO is a good project to collect funds and there are a lot of reason why it is getting popular in blockchain community, there are huge profits in ICO that is why it is very good to invest on it but not all ICO are successful so better study their platform first and the people behind in order to evaluate the profitability of that ICO.

It is definitely still profitable to invest in ICOs.

However with the markets saturated now and ICOs popping up every single day, you really need to pick your investments carefully. You can't just go out there, buy several random ICO tokens and expect a profit in return. Doesn't work like that.

Make sure that the team is legit, their product is good, and they have good advertising.

Many ICO prices drop after their ICO ends because they just sit with the proceeds raised for months before they take action on their business plan. You need to find an ICO that is ready to execute their business plan once all proceeds are raised. These will often be the most successful ICOs. A good example of this I Propthereum.io. If you take a look at their timeline, they will execute their business plan within a short period of time after their ICO ends.
