I know this may not be what an "investor" wants to hear, but one of the main things which scares away widespread adoption of bitcoin is its volatility. It has been a great investment....no two ways about it from an investor's standpoint over the last few years. Yet, the wild fluctuations in value just spooks people from using it in the real world.

I wish we could somehow have a second version of bitcoin which held a stabilized value. Today for example it dropped almost 10% in a matter of minutes...that kind swing just makes it hard for joe blow retailer to start accepting it.

IMHO

If a retailer uses Bitpay they don't need to worry about price swings and can get paid in the currency which pays their bills. Problem solved.
