Hello

some time ago I managed to prepare for myself a working version of the firmware with new features.
At the moment already implemented such things as
- separate chain overclock
- fan settings
- zabbix_agent monitoring with special template

A brand new interface for the administration panel is planned

I will accept the wishes for the any functional you need - write me to tarakanfw@gmail.com

the firmware will be with a little devfee

Interesting. Especcially SNMP is a good thing to have.
How much do you charge for it ?

The only downside i see is potentially bricking the Miner when flashing it - not sure how possible it is.
Also not sure what bitmain says if you send in a bricked Miner with custom FW.

pretty sure their is a signature on the firmware aka you'd brick it or it wouldn't take it if signature doesn't match.

Why miners will use a new firmware with dev fee? Already they will run without a dev fee?
I think it will not worth to use this firmware.

i would love to pay premium and get a custom firmware BUT... my concern is not the devfee but security, how would i know you didn't plant a backdoor. It will take some time and 1000s of miners to confirm legitimacy of your work.

ok, i'll try to include snmpd service for monitoring.

devfee will be about 2%

flashing procedure is like basic upgrade. moreover, the firmware is based on original image. so brick chance is the same

if you need to send your box by warranty - upload the basic version and send it...

why do you charge 2% fee?
does your firmware increase the profit?
It doesn`t need any snmp support to monitor with zabbix.
All you need is a wrapper for the miner api.

2% is insane. Nobody will do that.
40 Cents a day for some shiny interface ? The API-monitoring for the antminer is sufficient and does not justify giving you 40 cents / day / miner.

i don't plan to make any backdoor in this firmware. just small devfee for research and my spent time

by the other side - some time and thousands miners are used firmware with included antbleed and what?..

My opinion on this topic:
1st : tarakanfw - Newbie account created 2 days ago - Thats a bad sign alreday  Grin
Why pay 2% dev fee ? Are my miners w custom firmware going to be generating more income ? NO
Im going to lose my warranty : YES
Pay 2% just for better monitoring ?  Grin Cheesy YES
There is a possibility for a backdoor code in the custom firmware ? YES
Can i brick my miner flashing a custom firmware ? YES

How the hell can i upload a "basic version" if my miner is totally bricked Huh   Grin Cheesy

Why would I install this on my miners?  Does it provide better mining software?  Will it make me more money?  If the answer is no then PASS!!

It will take some time and 1000s of miners to confirm legitimacy of your work.

It would take a single person running the firmware with a packet sniffer to monitor the traffic and test it.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.
