Good afternoon all,

Amidst the huge Bitcoin phenomenon that is now upon us, I have remembered that as a kid (circa 2009-2011) I used to leave my computer to "mine" bitcoins whilst I was at school. We are now 6-8 years down the line and would love to recover/find my old 'mining account' to check just how successful this was.

Only catch is that I can't remember for the life of me which programme/client I used to do this! I'm unsure if I had a wallet and where any bitcoins may have gone. I'm now taking the opportunity to reach out to the bitcointalk forum for help. If I were to locate any bitcoins, where would I look? I'm sure I can remember certain account details (100% the e-mail address I would have used).

Happy to compensate anyone who can assist if it turns out I have any unearthed coins.

Thanks for your help in advance. BTC Wink

First of all, if you were mining bitcoins back in the earliest days, you are solo mining on a pool and receiving the payments on your address which usually is saved in your wallet file (which obviously is saved in your hard drive). Back then no such 'accounts' exist when mining bitcoins, only your address and your machine. So the best bet would be finding your old machine back in 2009-2011 and check for the hard drives, look for a file named wallet.dat and you're rich.
