Author Topic: Does a node need to be connected to the Internet to generate blocks?  (Read 1178 times)

It would make common sense that it would, but you never know.  Is there a way to download the current list of blocks into a client and have a PU run offline until it figures out a new block then check to see if that block was made by the rest of the world first? Or is this a 'Perma internet connection' skill.?

which can take weeks or longer

meanwhile the bitcoin network found it in 10 minutes or less, on average.
