Hey guys,
For a while now I have some very high stale shares and I don't know why. (up to 20-25/hr, that's like 12-14%). See attached screenshot!

So I have a rig with 6 GPU's (3x 1060 and 3x 1070)
I'm using Claymore miner solo mining ETH on Ethermine pool.
My reported hashrate for this rig is 169Mh, but dropping to 159-161Mhs effective because of the stale shares.

Here are some other facts:
  • After starting the miner I get good response times when sending shares (78ms) but after an hour or two this goes up to 125ms and then up to 200-300ms
  • I'm connected to EU server since I'm from EU, but also tried US server (still a lot of stale shares)
  • My [wired!] internet connection is fine, I tried resetting my router just to be sure.
  • There is nothing downloading in the background or on other devices, and the mining rig is used for mining only (fresh Win10).
  • Everything was fine a few days ago

its not just you
many people are facing the same issue while mining eth
I guess it has to do with less block time after update

I do not know which pools affected
but many posts surfaced with a lot of stale shares in mining eth
I suggest you try nanopool and see if the problem still persist

I think that all faced with this problem. I stopped to get a ETH. I do think that this coin has already gone through its maximum and now is gradually start to roll down. This month I switched to mining cryptonight. They offer more favorable terms. However, I immediately change their coins on bitcoin. I think so less of a risk.
