Hi guys,
So I am planning on building a new rig and I have already got my new MoBo(ASRock H110 13 PCI-e slots) . However I am confused as to what gpu I have to get? I want to get only a new GPU and not old/refurbished ones and also I read on several forums that the RX 4xx/5xx series cards will experience a drop in hashrate once the difficulty goes up... So i planned on getting the nVidia GTX 1050ti(6pcs) or the GTX1060(3 pcs) or the GTX 1070(3 pcs). However I don't want to put my money in these GPUs and then later feel very bad when the AMD RX Vega cards come out and they hash much better and increase the difficulty quite quickly. Or should I just forget all this and get the RX 5xx series(since RX 4xx series is not manufactured anymore). Kindly tell me if it is a good idea to build a new rig now and the card choices that I have made.

Thank you,
Akaash

I have some good deals on 1080ti if you are interested. Can't go wrong with them, solid as a rock, and good resell value due to gamers wanting high end stuff.

1080Ti is excellent for ZEC mining.

Your best bet if you have the value is 1080 ti. AMD Vega's are hashing at a lower rate than most predicted, and the FE of it is very low for the value. Now waiting until its major release, and the gaming versions could be a different story and are supposed to release this month. What i recommend is getting an Amazon Store Card or the Amazon Credit Card off of Amazon, (you will get $100 in Amazon gift cards for signing up), then buying your units on amazon with those if you have the cash available or putting it on a 12 month no APR. Amazon has 1080 Ti's for $710, which if you have the cash you put it on the Amazon card with 5% cash back and get the card for $675 brand new, or put it on a 12 month no APR. GTX 1060's are great, and so are the 1070's, and the 1080 ti. The 1080 are not great for the value. Also if you want the Vega's wait for Amazon to list it at MSRP and you will get vega's (2 card limit per edition) at MSRP. If you truly watch amazon, you can get a great deal on graphics cards, it might just take 1 week to buy them all but its worth it in the end to save $50+ per card.

Do not purchase the used units from the person above. You can literally buy them on Amazon with the store card discount for the same price he is asking for a used unit, and no telling what he has actually ran those units at and why he is really selling them.

Mining is not great right now. Trough last month or so I've seen a lot of cards popping up on my local marketplace site for used goods. If you can find some used RX 4xx/5xx series cards with warranty for cheap go for them. Even with diff increase you can profit if you get good deal on them.

I think 1070s are the best card right now based on cost, profitability, power consumption, resale value and payback period.  Eth hash rate won't drop off for these, and can fall back to Zcash.

That is right. But for the ZEC, it is better to use 1080Ti or 1070Ti.
