Hello folks,

Since I'm spending my hobby time in crypto-land I figured it wouldn't hurt to put this up here to highlight a skill that might be needed by some.

I started out in 1998 with an Oracle shop and have used my DB skills for many other hobby projects for the past 20 years as well; everything from MUDs to paintball to baseball related projects. Below is a list of some of the things I can do:

I should note that some of these abilities can certainly be used on other databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Oracle) but I'm most comfortable with MySQL right now.

  • Write queries used for front-end and back-end applications
  • Review query performance and optimize code
  • Design and code DB tables to store your application’s data
  • Configure *nix DB environment/MySQL settings for best performances
  • Create and optimize indexes for better performance
  • Data modelling to visualize DB structure
  • Work with your devs to create optimized queries
  • Create DB triggers for automation
  • Create migration tools for conversions (through python mainly)
  • Develop views, stored procedures, and functions

Rates would start at around BTC0.003 an hour but would be discussed on a per task basis. I'm not interested in joining a nascent team to help with their project for portfolio building/future compensation. As I'm a newbie here I would like to work with more established and trusted community members as I'd work with the expectation of payment upon task completion at an agreed rate and not require a deposit. I will of course work with anyone if you're willing to pay a deposit after a quote is agreed upon.

My ideal task would be to find a bottleneck in your app/site and optimize the query, db structure, back-end and/or logic to improve its performance. Maybe this is something you've been looking for help with?

Anyway let me know if it's something you've been looking for, shoot me a PM or reply here!
