So my friend bought $500 worth of BTC via BitInstant's cash thingy and entered the correct address. It showed as correct in the receipt. But the BTC NEVER arrived. Contacted BitInstant and their admin to no avail. How the hell do I get their attention? This happened some months ago.

The guys there are fair and responsive.  Try writing again and provide every single detail/info in the email.
