Hello newbies, I was once one too (well, I am in no means a veteran).
I remember feeling anxious to jump in and become a millionaire in a couple months.
I remember asking which ICO I should invest in.
I remember panic selling my coins at a loss.
I remember following some idiot on youtube's advice on what coin to invest in.
I remember stalking the bitcointalk forum's endlessly trying to find the "next"coin.

So here is some advice for you with some reasons.  It is the bestest besterest best advice I could ever possibly give:

#1 bitcointalk is a HORRIBLE place to get advice - you will get basically four types of responses: people trying to promote their coin for profit, people trying to spread fud about a coin for profit, people just listing off what they have bought into and hope to get profit, and bounty hunters just trying to make their post count for the week so they can get profit.

#2 Research like a crazy funky monkey - learn about stock market economics, trade principals, blockchain technology, satoshi nakamoto, trade histories of coins, dev team's backgrounds, tech behind a token or coin, terminology in the crypto world, how to read coinmarketcap, and more! It will always trump trying to get quick advice from someone.

#3 BTC is king - At the core of all of this crypto is btc.  Even if you make millions off of an ICO (which doesn't really happen that much anymore), you still have to convert it to btc than into fiat.  Alts prices rely on BTC.  BTC has gone through heaven and hell and is still here and thriving.  Don't let the high price scare you off, it will still rise.  In fact, btc is not just your king, it is your secret lover!!!!

Have fun trading!
