Hi all, I've recently got interested Bitcoin after the Mt.Gox freeze (for some reason unknown to me), and I think the philosophy behind the idea is pretty cool. I'm looking forward to seeing how the concept fleshes out in the years to come (or what happens to it if it doesn't). I have heard of Bitcoin in the past, but never really did any serious research into what it was. Silly me.

I had a question as to the Bitcoin-Qt client: In the transaction tab, is it possible to see the address or name (if the address is in your book) in the From: section rather than "unknown"? Shouldn't the software be able to pick up this information easily enough from the transaction log? Is there something I have to set up differently?

This is something I've wanted in bitcoin-qt as well, and was surprised when i saw it just say "unknown".

I mean, a workaround is to just grab the transaction ID and throw it into blockchain.info's search function if you really want to know the "From" address, but...

Why not just use blockchain.info instead?

I do, I just think it's weird that it pulls at the other info from the transaction flawlessly. It'd just be nice to have, I guess. And it'd also be nice to link the transaction codes to blockchain, assuming that's the main/only source of blockchain transactions. I suppose I could always take a peek at some source to see if that's even possible.
