You can't mine bitcoin with any off the shelf components or computers.

You need specialized equipment that's made by Bitmain, Canaan, or eBit.

I was looking at a video on youtube about this cluster of raspberry pi 3, and it seemed interesting to mine, but I would like to study everything before buying and building this cluster. Roll Eyes

To be specific, I want to use it as a desktop, but I wonder if I could make a profit by mining bitcoin, compared to a regular notebook or desktop!

As i said:

You can't profitably mine Bitcoin directly with a Pi, or a GPU, or a Xeon, or  Cray supercomputer.

i agree. you can't get so much from raspberry pi. you're just wasting your time and energy running that itty-bitty gadget.  Wink

Have you made up your mind yet with this idea?
I bet you are. Forget mining using rpi 2/3.  Wink

You can mine some other cryptocurrencies, which it is possible to mine with CPU (i.e. Karbowanec, which has good rise, almost $1 now, Gridcoin, Monero)
I thought to do it on Raspberry pi 2 (which I had but didn't manage to switch it to monitor and launched)
If  you'll mine Altcoins with your Raspberry pi - would be good to hear your experience
