Hi all, stoked to share my newest project, a book. It's called Art of the Initial Coin Offering: Inside the Launch of a Crypto-Token.

From the description:
Quote
Benja CEO Andrew J. Chapin shares the lessons learned while executing an ICO, from conceptualization to market, from explaining it to his parents to the day he received a phone call from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The first book of its kind, Art of the Initial Coin Offering offers a comprehensive account of a crypto-token launch.

Chapin brings a unique perspective to the book, which is part playbook and part manifesto: while many napkin-stage ideas were running ICOs, Chapin ran one for the company he co-founded which was already generating seven-figures in annual revenue. While others worked to avoid the SEC, Chapin invited collaboration and joined the ICO Governance Foundation in an effort to create a set of standards and best practices.

Excited to share this with the community - would love feedback on the excerpts that we're dropping next week. For information and to receive excerpts in advance, check out our link: http://artoftheICO.com/

And a sampling of some of the writing I've done on related topics:

This is a great idea!  I feel like there isn't quite enough information about how an ICO is started.

When did you get the idea to release your first ICO, and is there a lot you would do differently now?

Thanks,

Janet

Wow this sounds very interesting !
Also, I checked out your little website you've put together, and I really like your logo!

I'm excited about reading this. Is there a email signup or alert we can sign up for to tell us when it's released? Thanks!

Would be cool if you would have financed the book by doing an ICO too.
Is there somewhere a chapter index available?

This is definitely a book to buy for anyone planning to do an ICO. Which nowadays it means basically everyone in crypto. I will recommend it to my friends.

Thanks for the kind words. I can't say it'll be THE definitive guide, but I certainly have some stories and perspective to share that I think people will find useful. Just another data point.  Smiley

Will there also be an ebook available or only paper version of the book?

I ran the benjaCoin ICO earlier this summer but that has concluded now (more information at http://benjacoin.com). This is not about my ICO or benjaCoin - it's announcing a book that I have finished to talk people through the process of launching an ICO. It'll talk about the business challenges, lessons learned, and things like good governance and the SEC. Hope that helps provide some clarity.

We've got three main sections in the book, including Project Formation, Token Promotion, and Launch Your Token.

Within each of those, we'll cover: ideation, team formation, establishing business structures, disclosures and good citizenship, good governance, legal considerations, building a content plan and audience, bounty programs, and activating your audience.

We'll have some excerpts dropping publicly next week.  Smiley
