Is it possible to embed steemit images?

had some problems trying to embed a steemit image today.
is it possible to redirect it here?
when I try putting the image link in between [   img    ] tags (without spaces) it simply return an invalid proxy address.

is there anything I can do to solve it like maybe posting it to spee.ch? or trying a different server?
any info on why this happens?

Don't use steemit's image direct url. E.g:
https://steemitimages.com/DQmP5aFK9xRXWssuswpTGzCiHq5g9dM6s6BqPyTrdCiHDwJ/auction-2891804_1280.jpg

Paste it in your URL bar and press Enter. It will redirect you to a different url similar to this one:
https://steemit-production-imageproxy-upload.s3.amazonaws.com/DQmP5aFK9xRXWssuswpTGzCiHq5g9dM6s6BqPyTrdCiHDwJ
I tested it and I had the same erro with the first url, but not with the second.
