Although I consider them the shittest exchange in the bitcoin scene, this is too important to not to be shared lol I wish all the exchanges followed a similar pay structure towards their staff, event managers, promoters. If nothing else that would truly help promote bitcoin commercially.
Why do you think they're the shittiest exchange though? I personally have never used Coinbase as it doesn't support my country, but it seems like they're doing fine. If anything, they're probably one of the leading platforms for global adoption as they're probably still the #1 crypto <-> fiat exchange.
Wait, what? I thought Coinbase employees get their salary in Bitcoin already right? I am pretty sure I have seen Bitcoin job offerings noting this little detail before. It seems Coinbase paid an independent contractor (the catering company) in Bitcoin which is a precedent for Coinbase as strange as it might sound haha. Or perhaps the catering company was the first one to ever ask Bitcoin payment outside of Coinbase staff?
I don't think them paying for catering make the catering service provider fall under being an "employee" though. It's probably more of a gig than a job; so yea. Most likely the first to actually demand bitcoin instead of fiat outside their formal employees.
