Hello folks.
I'd like to sell my BTG which were acquired via the hard fork. I have transferred my bitcoins from the pre-fork addresses, so the private key from my original bitcoin wallet would not provide access to my bitcoins. However, the addresses from my original wallet still hold bitcoin cash and bitcoin gold.
I've found an article online that utilizes coinomi (android app) for getting access to my BTG (my original wallet does not support BTG). As part of the process, I'd need to sweep the private key from my original bitcoin wallet into the coinomi wallet.
Is there a better/safer way to do this? Or is this an acceptable solution?
Thanks!

I don't really have experience with coinomi but you could always transfer your bitcoin out first.. before you get your btg.

Yes, this is safe procedure. Just stop using the address after that. With coinomi you can claim both BCH and BTG ... pay attention to sweep the key to correct wallet.

Yes of course, i used that wallet in order to receive my bitcon goldies and my bitcoin cash.
It all went smooth, specially because they dont ask you for any verifications before depositing or withdrawing, it is one of the best wallet/exchanges that i have ever used because of that..
And probably this is the first time that i dont see anyone complaining about bitcoin cash, is this something new on this forum? I thought that i was going to join this thread and i was going to see it all full of crap about bitcoin cash, lmao.
But yes, coinomi is probably the most FAIR way to get your btg/bch.

If you are asking is coinomi be trusted to enter your private key than yes you can trust them blindly. They wont transmit your private keys from the device.

Which address should I stop using? And why? Thanks.

What a horrible advice, we all know that coinomi is legit, but it does not means that you can be trusting all the exchanges that are on the internet because they are "safe"... If you are asking is coinomi be trusted to enter your private key than yes you can trust them blindly.
Anyway, it is a good wallet, and far as i know they are the only wallet who is giving out those forked coins, so it is worth it. They are not going to give your private key, but yes, once that you receive those coins, try to move your funds from that wallet, because you are never going to know what is going to happen if that wallet suddenly gets hacked.

Well, I started trying to sweep my private keys from armory to coinomi, and discovered that coinomi cannot handle the format the armory backup provides, which is the chain root key (18 four letter sequences).
The coinomi help page says I'd need to type in the private keys for each of the addresses my wallet used. Yuck - that would be tedious and extremely error prone.
Is there a way around this difficulty?

Just thought I would let folks know I found a solution to this issue - QR Code Extension for chrome. It converts text to QR code, which I then scanned w/ coinomi.

Yes, my friend has used Coinomi several times for both Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold. Luckily I have a Ledger Wallet so had an easy way to access them, but otherwise I would have also used Coinomi.

Which address should I stop using? And why? Thanks. The one you will be sweeping. Because after that the private key is compsomised (not so private anymore ) and is much better to not use the address any further. e.g. there is possible leak due to using hacked device etc.
