Hi everyone,

Is anyone experiencing massive delays getting their deposits into Mt Gox accounts?

I have $25k spanning several payments waiting to clear at Mt Gox, that should have cleared long ago based on past transfers.

For the world's largest bitcoin exchange they are pretty flakey:

  • The API is poorly documented and seems to allow partial transactions through and respond that it was successful
  • There seems to be no way of doing test transactions
  • Communication is poor, the web site says almost nothing about recent payment or deposit delays, i had to read about it in the news, and even then it sounded dodgy. News websites report that MT Gox had its US accounts suspended because they were operating an unlicensed money service business and Mt Gox reports that they are updating their system.

Anyway, its really annoying when you're trying to run a professional business and major suppliers make massive changes with no communication.

Hello,

Thank you for the email. Yes I have informed to our banking department and as per our bank it will take 7-10 business days to deposit the funds in to your account. So please bear with us I will keep you posted once it is done.

Best regards,

Mt.Gox Team

Since when does it take that long at their end?Huh    Since yesterday apparently, according to this "announcement":

https://support.mtgox.com/entries/21692589-Changes-to-Deposit-Transfer-Procedures-

I made my deposit over a week ago!!!! They call this an improvement to their system?

Call me paranoid, but I reckon they are using my cash to pay out the withdrawals they haven't processed over the past 3 weeks, because they were operating an unlicensed money business in the US (and not, as they claim, making improvements to their payment system.)

Bitcoin is all about trust, and Mt Gox are not doing much to instil trust and confidence. F@*k'n Mt Cocks more like it. Can anyone recommend a better exchange?

I've been waiting for a £500 deposit to show up since the 2nd. I paid my bank extra to get the money to Mt.Gox within 2 days. Apparently the banking team are "looking for" my deposit, despite having been given all the details and verifying that they are correct.

Funny that this happened after the price of bitcoins took a nosedive.

I strongly suspect that I am being scammed.
