how to participate in group buy as a newbie?

So as a newbie I can finally talk on this forum?
Can somebody explain to me what it will take to participate in a group buy.
All I can do right now is passively watch and drool over the missed opportunities.

You can either try to get your way up to member status or write emails, skype, call whatever group buy organizers left for contact.
