Three big transactions stuck for days

Hi - a friend of mine has sent me some btc, he is new to sending and has just been holding and watching the money grow, this was his 1st send and he used a low transaction fee although it was set to "priority" in the blockchain wallet.

I told him to re send a smaller transaction to see if it would bump it through with a larger fee and finally to try again with a very large fee but they are all stuck, can anyone see what might be wrong here, the last one has, as far as I can tell a huge transaction fee:

Ive never had anything take this long and I have sent transactions since which have been processed

I think there is a backlog of unconfirmed transactions. I’ve been waiting for one for about a day and a half now. According to blockchain.info, there are over 200,000 unconfirmed transactions and the number keeps growing. My assumption is that eventually they will get to our transactions but I just used a regular fee instead of a higher price, so some people that pay more will get their transactions moved up in the queue.
