octoin recently promoted on the Indonesian subforum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2686662.0

this is basically another bitconnect: promising fixed return (X% per day, Y% per month, etc), promoting via "seminars" or "conferences" to laymen in developing countries (indonesia, turkey, etc). it also has its own exchange (octoinexchange.com) just like bcc exchange to inflate trading volume on its own coin. i've commented about this coin being a HYIP scam, but apparently they deleted all my posts in that thread, so i'm posting here just so people who search can find it.

For the benefit of all newcomers, avoid ALL projects that promise a fixed or guaranteed profit. No matter how "small" it seems, even a 1% guaranteed return a month is very suspicious. OP, you said you noted it as a scam, perhaps you should not give them free advertisement, as it seems like you are.

Bitconnect was/is a pyramid scheme which just created market cap from nowhere, and has a MLM leadership with crazy leaders. Do not ever fall for these. Read their tech, they can prove nothing at all about how they make profits. Avoid at all costs.

i certainly did not intend to give them free advertisement, did you read what i wrote? well, if people read that as an advertisement, how sad.
