Thank you so much... but just a question.  I actually just deleted this from my memory and resent the TX with a higher TX fee?  So I take it the original one is cancelled?  And the one I just sent with higher TX will go through?

Let me ask you a different question: what wallet do you use? You paid $50 fee, that may be enough for a transaction with 2 inputs. Currently, your transaction has 16 inputs, most of them are worth $0.15! For a fast transaction, you need to pay $25-$30 per input, which means adding those small inputs cost you 200 times more than they're worth!

Your inputs:
Quote
16bY6d2wisEZ78pU6UaYf6fedmN4fBhsfF ($ 0.17 - Output)
1DkCoD5bDbaknYrYhSAWCvvdm5DFKnjZeu ($ 2,994.77 - Output)
1F78nNHCa1XctpCH1MyWc8NeM5SAL9T9sg ($ 1,830.41 - Output)
16bY6d2wisEZ78pU6UaYf6fedmN4fBhsfF ($ 0.14 - Output)
16bY6d2wisEZ78pU6UaYf6fedmN4fBhsfF ($ 0.14 - Output)
16bY6d2wisEZ78pU6UaYf6fedmN4fBhsfF ($ 0.15 - Output)
16bY6d2wisEZ78pU6UaYf6fedmN4fBhsfF ($ 0.79 - Output)
16bY6d2wisEZ78pU6UaYf6fedmN4fBhsfF ($ 0.27 - Output)
1DtoMzjmFJfmc8bZgf9YHp9LfVViX9DLFC ($ 991.68 - Output)
16bY6d2wisEZ78pU6UaYf6fedmN4fBhsfF ($ 0.14 - Output)
16bY6d2wisEZ78pU6UaYf6fedmN4fBhsfF ($ 0.15 - Output)
16bY6d2wisEZ78pU6UaYf6fedmN4fBhsfF ($ 0.14 - Output)
16bY6d2wisEZ78pU6UaYf6fedmN4fBhsfF ($ 0.14 - Output)
16bY6d2wisEZ78pU6UaYf6fedmN4fBhsfF ($ 0.14 - Output)
16bY6d2wisEZ78pU6UaYf6fedmN4fBhsfF ($ 0.17 - Output)
16bY6d2wisEZ78pU6UaYf6fedmN4fBhsfF ($ 0.14 - Output)

My suggestion: figure out how to control which inputs to use in your wallets, and use only these:
Quote
1DkCoD5bDbaknYrYhSAWCvvdm5DFKnjZeu ($ 2,994.77 - Output)
1F78nNHCa1XctpCH1MyWc8NeM5SAL9T9sg ($ 1,830.41 - Output)
16bY6d2wisEZ78pU6UaYf6fedmN4fBhsfF ($ 0.14 - Output)
This would give a much smaller transaction, and the same fee would be much higher per byte.

Forget about the rest, it's smaller than dust and costs you hundreds of dollars to use.

FFS why do I need to figure out why or how is the best way for my wallet to make change?  I have NEVER had to deal with this cr*p before...

How do I tweak Core QT 15.1 to give me a sensible amount of inputs and send BTC in a reasonable amount of time??

Click Settings > Options > Wallet > Enable coin control features > OK.
Click Send > Inputs > Select the inputs you want to use (ignore the dust) > OK.
Set the fee, make the payment.

Okay but when you say select those inputs (the 3 you listed before) do I need to select the same ones multiple times?  Or does it matter?  Some of them are listed 8,10,12 or 16 times...  Why does it tell me I have insufficient funds when I do this?

You should only select the inputs you want to involve in your next transaction. If they're listed several times, that means the same address has received funds in several different transactions. You can select only part of them.
Bitcoin Core will tell you the total amount you've selected, the "insufficient funds" message means you're trying to send more than the coins you've selected.
