Can you give any advice on how to clean MB and GPUs in an open frame rig? I am using compressed air can, but it seems that a layer of dust is adhered to the surface and will not come of without agitating. What are your practices?

You shouldn't expect all the dust to come off of a rig when using compressed air, and I'd suggest using either a cloth or q-tips to get out the dust that can't be blown away by the compressed air. I add some isopropyl alcohol to make the dust come off easier- if you have glasses cleaning fluid, that usually contains isopropyl alcohol and I usually spray a bit onto my cloths.

It's fine to use a bit of force. Just don't use so much that you damage components.

I use brushes and the like to clean Rigs even though it is a bit slow but safe for components on the motherboard or GPU. also, when using a brush can be more thorough and this's different when using a Vacuum or the like.
