Hi,

www.bitpay.com is a big scamming company........ALERT

So it started as i tried to load some money on my Skrill from Bitcoins and gave it a try.Eventually i loaded around $25 with a fee of $0.25 and i sent the amount with a fee of $4 instantly from blockchain.info for $25 i sent around $34 btc as per the market price on blockchain.info

After sending btc the invoice on Bitpay said under payment and can not refund even.

I was surprised as on Skrill i checked the $25 value with $0.25 fee and $8 miner fee i sent the amount. After 3 days bitpay support said they cant load money in the Skrill nor refund my money back...i send another message to the support to get my money back cutting the miner fee or load remaining amount in my Skrill.

But this is so insane and crazy that this company has $25 miner fee for small amounts too...What a big scam...

I will advice all Skrill members or Bitpay users not to use Bitpay services as there system is so complicated and also if you are using through a merchant like Skrill...non chargeable then your money is lost complete as if in case you dont follow there complicate payment system they will eat your BTC with a bloody excuse...$25 miner fee ..my good ness..

Here is the Complete Support ticket Detail.

Hello,

We were able to locate a valid transaction on the bitcoin network going to the address associated but the amount is less than the minimum amount for refunding a transaction*.

https://insight.bitpay.com/tx/184bfa540f442c01f48747ef9cfa9a239c279d0488c5c87f0fc2cc5083e28600
Due to the rapidly rising costs of bitcoin miner fees, we recommend buyers consider higher value transactions and complete bitcoin orders in a single transaction to save on fees.

Payment sent must be greater than associated fees to qualify for a refund. See the following support article for more information https://support.bitpay.com/hc/en-us/articles/203076826-What-fees-am-I-charged-when-I-pay-a-BitPay-merchant-with-bitcoin-

You can increase the likelihood of successful payment and timely confirmation by using a bitcoin wallet that auto-populates the bitcoin address, payment amount and dynamically calculates the miner fee to include in the transaction as this dramatically reduces user error and the resulting payment exceptions.

We recommend the BitPay wallet. Or you can check out other bitcoin wallet options on our wallet comparison page.

Click here for information on how to pay an invoice.

Hi so what is the resolution to this payment. Can you refund me the
money which you owe me deducting the miner fee for the refund on my
wallet.

Its like a cheating as i sent the same amount as it was requested and
still not clear whether you will refund or not.

Please refund my money deducting the miner fee from the amount you have.

Thank You

Hello,

Why the support so slow and unresponsive.

I need an answer on This topic and refund to my bitcoin wallet or money loaded to the skrill account.
Well your system is so poor that when i tried to load money using the Skrill it took the right amount and then saying Underpay. There should be a better way to deal with it.

I need my amount back as soon as possible or i am calling the merchandise and posting negative reviews on internet,Bitcointalk forum and other portals about Bitpay to aware other customers and users too.

I am reputed member there,

Well this is ridiculous how you guys are stealing other peoples Bitcoins in such a way.

Tell me the best way possible to get my BTC back..shall i send you more BTC to cover the miner fee or you can deduct the miner fee and send my money back?

Very bad experience.

Hello,

As I stated in my previous email, BitPay cannot issue a refund for this underpayment since the cost of sending the refund is greater than the refund amount itself.

Please see the following support article for more information:

I don't know if you guys noticed, but EVERYONE is having to pay $20-$60 for transaction fees right now, it has nothing to do with BitPay.  Mempool is overloaded and the wait time for transactions in the last week has been incredibly high.  If you take a look at this website (https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/) it tells you the average fee for a transaction right now (as of this post) is 0.00215 BTC, in order to confirm in several blocks.

This is precisely why BitPay changed their minimum load amount to $100, because of the ridiculous blockchain fees right now; they don't have any control over it.  The reason they likely won't send your money back is because it would cost them a higher amount in fees to send it than your refund itself.

This should all be fixed whenever the Lightning Network comes into play, however long it takes the Bitcoin devs to release/finish it.

Also cussing out their support team isn't going to help you any.

I personally have loaded well over 5000$ onto bitpay in the last week and had 0 problems. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBkO7fMps60  you can check out this video and see some options for loading your account. Its much easier if you use their wallet to pay the invoices.

Your response contained several quality pieces of info. I would like to add...
Hopefully the once great Bitcoin P2P payment network can recover. Fees (afiak) used to be ~1 cent USD and the spike to $0.04 USD was a "disturbing trend" which made the smallest micro-payments less practical.

If I was to try (today) to give someone a small Xmas gift of $20 worth of Bitcoin the amount of money needed would be closer to $70+ after paying the in and out fees. The mega-millionaire early Bitcoin winners might not care, but the enthusiastic "community members" from the early days who "missed out" on big investments while looking forward to a future where BTC actually helps people! ...  // Some of us still care about the ideals, despite the rivers of ugly greed flowing everywhere.

This holidays my beloved friends and family will not be gifted with any amounts of the once great, fun, happy, idealistic, potentially useful, and now almost worthless Bitcoin Dream.

Have a great time everyone!!!   Cheesy
