I have a practical suggestion you might want to take up with the forum owners.
Create an alt-coin OP/announcement page that cannot be commented on by anyone but the OP and can only be updated by the OP; then provide a link to that talk in another but separate announcement forum.
This provides the following benefits:
Users can see on the first page new coin announcements that are actually NEW; and not showing up on page 1 because of people's comments which can go on for months or even years.
New coin announcements or OP changes to existing coins can show up first; even with refreshes they can stay on the page long enough to be seen by everyone. Currently any new announcements may be seen by a small fraction of people because the page is updated to frequently by updates from peoples comments on old announcements.
By creating two separate announcement pages you can actually see new announcements which may be relevant for those seeking brand new coins, while still being able to see updated info on old announcements.
Please consider these things.
