I spent about 24 hours trying to get bitcoin to compile on my centos 5.6 box. I finally did it. I figure other users will have the same problems I did so I tossed the binaries up on the first dropbox type website I could find (drop box was offline)
If you have any problems downloading let me know and I can toss it up somewhere else.
The file bitcoin.tar.gz includes bitcoin and bitcoind compiled under CentOS 5.6 X86_64 with static libs (the binaries are quite large)
