Looking to get my hands on a couple Casascius coins after I foolishly sold mine a year ago. Message me if you have any that you're interested in selling whilst the price of bitcoin is on the up and up!

Escrow required of course, as I'm primarily looking to do a trade deal for some of my precious metals.

edit: only offering to pay with Bitcoin until further notice, not precious metals.

His big fat pile of gold is fake. Giveaway is the identical QR codes (real ones are unique per serial #)  Sad

Looks like I have more research to do but from what this website says mine do look a lot like the un-genuine pictures.

I'll obviously only now be offering to pay via Bitcoin and not these bars until I get things straightened out.

I believe there is trusted escrow on this forum who can test your bars.

I've already messaged mj to handle escrow as I've used him before for handling physical escrow deals. He said he can't test precious metals but knows a trusted escrow that could for me to use, but now obviously I have bigger fish to fry than trying to buy a Cas coin. Going to get this straightened out first with the man I bought them from. Until then obviously I can't offer these for payment, but I still doubt they're fake.

Any local coin shop should be able to test them for you w/o opening the assay card.

Both LC and I have Sigma Metalytics verifiers that can do the job, too...

I didn't get them from a local coin shop so I didn't have a machine to test them with, but the serial number on my bars are definitely not smaller like your website suggests. The first "C" in my serial numbers never cross with the "essayeur fondeur" logo like your website suggests they would if they were fake. I don't know how to explain the other discrepancies but I still doubt they're fake, maybe there is some other explanation? Either way, I'll find out for sure soon, but already one of the details on my bars don't match up with one of the details of the fake bars on that website.

You can still take it to a local shop to be tested

Even a pawn shop should be able to test, but they would most likely destroy the casing.  Your best bet is to find a local coin shop and have them use a karatmeter.

Yeah, it turns out that they are fake. Even though I've known the guy that I bought them from for years (wasn't a coin shop), it turns out he didn't scam me, it's just that he himself didn't even know that they were fake because they looked the same, weighed the same, and measured the same as real ones (to the untrained eye).

I hope no one thinks that I was trying to pass them off as real, and now of course I can't afford to buy another casascius coin so I'm going to lock the thread.

When I have the money to afford another casascius coin I'll make a new thread.
